Week 1 is when your eating and training habits undergo the biggest changes. Subsequently it can be one of the most challenging periods of the 4 week intensive as you body cries out for what it has become accustomed to over the years. "Where's my caffeine? Where's my sugar?"
Remember why you are participating in the 4 week intensive and why you made the commitment to changing these aspects of your lifestyle. Your new healthier lifestyle will become just that (Lifestyle) if you persist in this early period.
Post early challenges and successes to comments.
I feel for an avo coffee, RIGHT NOW! But I think I train instead! YEAH!
ReplyDeleteThis is what we do today.......
50 pull ups
50 burpees (with push ups)
HELP!!!
Didn't want to go to yoga today, but made myself go because it was in my plan and is the only day I can go. I feel soooooo much better for going and for achieving what I set out to do - even if its only day 2.
ReplyDeleteFor me losing 4 kgs is unrealistic, so I have set several outcomes that includes a BF% reduction as a lower priority (see outcomes post)
ciao
Week 1 was progressing well... until today ... Yesterday our trainer made us do 200 walking lunges and a few other torcherous exercises...Needless to say, I'm finding it difficult to walk today and the glutes have never been so sore...
ReplyDeleteToday (for me) is Day 8 without alcohol - I've been to 3 social events so far and have stood firm... and they said it couldn't be done ;)
I'm going to come up as anonymous, but it's Kirsten.
ReplyDeleteJeff, I think you are doing excellently well RE: alcohol. But I think Nadine is being too easy on you and I'm going to ask her to up the intensity a bit.
My weeks been good. Finding the good food and no alcohol really helping my sleep. Coffees the hardest. Only 2 a day is struggletown for me.
BTW Jeff just a joke about the intensity
Tough week at work and sick relative all conspiring to derail me but I hung in there. Dropped a session Wed but made it up on Saturday AND THEN still did my "extra" session on Sunday making 4 in total - didn't want to go outside as it was raining intermittently but did a whole session - very chuffed I survived week one adhering to my eating plan 6 out of 7 days and doing ALL my training. Yay!
ReplyDeleteGood luck for this week everyone. Amanda
I've just had a weigh in and I know that my scales are more sympathetic than PJ's (the trainer).. but I'm quite chuffed about a 2kg loss - it's great to see results. Who would have thought ?!
ReplyDeleteSuggestion for trainer: Maybe we could incorporate sandbags into the training sessions - the 2kg that I've lost means that my training partner (Kirsten) has to carry the weight I've lost :)
That is fab Jeff! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteNot so sure about me and the sand bags though. I think it would be more productive if Nadine had to carry them around while she whips us, and maybe we should up them to combine weight loss of the 2 of us!
... now that's a bloody good idea. I think it's only fair that we assist Nadine in getting herself ready for the USA in July also.
ReplyDeleteNadine here... thanks guys. I will consider doing a workout using the sand bags equal to the weight that you both lose at the end of the 4 weeks. let this be an inspiration for you both to lose as much as possible!!!
ReplyDeleteExcellent ! I've just hopped on the scales and I've lost 25kg !!
ReplyDeleteI hope the workout includes push up burpees!
